A change of city is also a change of wardrobe. That’s what happened to Emily Cooper when she left Paris for Rome in the fifth season of Emily in Paris. The protagonist adopted a more thoughtful sophistication, reflecting her personal and professional maturity.
Emily Cooper, Lily Collins’ character, appears visually more mature in the new phase of the series, marked by her departure from Paris and her move to Rome
The new phase translates into clothing. This black and white jumpsuit with graphic prints by Diane von Furstenberg opens the season, completed with a Marc Deloche metal bracelet. The white dress with blue polka dots from the Vespa rides with Marcello recalls the Italian classic.
Suit sets are multiplying: from red suits to oversized blazers with green stripes. Scarves around the neck have become Emily’s signature in Rome. The look with maxi red roses shows that she hasn’t given up on prints.

The power of Italian brands
Italian brands dominate the season. Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi and Moschino construct an imagination that dialogues with classic Italian cinema of the 1950s and 1960s, with homages to Sophia Loren, Claudia Cardinale and Anna Magnani. Red – named Aperol Spritz color – becomes the absolute protagonist.
Dolce & Gabbana set with red rose prints. The shirt tied around the waist and the shorts create a casual and romantic look for the character.
Maturity is revealed in the details: transparencies, ruffles and ties on the knees. The productions focus on pants, shorts and jumpsuits, as well as making structures without losing personality. Emily remains dynamic and bold, but has learned that visual impact can come from a balance between adding and subtracting elements.
Minimalism and maximalism
Sylvie maintains her untouchable Parisian elegance even with Emily in Italian lands. Agence Grateau’s leadership remains a benchmark for minimalist sophistication: impeccable monochrome ensembles, precise cuts and a palette that transitions between black, white, gray and earth tones. Structured blazers contrast with flowing silk blouses, while specific accessories complete outfits that don’t call for excess.
Sylvie Grateau, the character of Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, has always been synonymous with elegance throughout the five seasons of the series
Mindy Chen is all about maximalism. The singer invests in looks mixing contemporary Asian references and European glamour: sequins, feathers, bold prints and layering which, in her hands, take on their full meaning. From the stage to the street, Mindy transforms each appearance into a visual performance. Bright colors, contrasting textures and dramatic silhouettes make for a wardrobe that celebrates self-expression.
Boldness and excess are the trademark of Mindy Chen, a character played by Ashley Park
The fifth season maintains the pace of the previous ones with productions that do not go unnoticed. Emily matured visually, Sylvie stayed true to her minimalism and Mindy continued with all her boldness. The three share the screen with completely opposite, but equally striking, styles.
