THE Enel reported this Sunday 14 that the electricity supply in the city of São Paulo “returns to normal standards”. The company admitted, however, that there were still “a few more complex cases” to resolve.
According to a press release sent by the company to Stadium On Sunday evening, the complexity of these cases refers to “the reconstruction of the network, which involves changing cables, poles and other equipment.”
On the morning of Sunday the 14th, the company published a notice on its website indicating the restoration of “energy for 99% of customers whose supply was affected by the extratropical cyclone” of the 10th and 11th.
According to information from the Lack of Light Map in São Paulo, published by Enel itself, as of 8:32 p.m. there are 37,575 customers with power outages in the city of São Paulo, which is equivalent to 0.64% of the total properties (5.8 million).
On the night of Friday the 12th, the São Paulo court accepted a civil action filed by the public prosecutor and by the Office of the Public Defender, which ordered power restored to properties still affected by the “blackout” within 12 hours. The distributor’s technicians continue to work on more complex network reconstruction cases, which involve changing cables, poles and other equipment. Crews are also working to respond to power outage requests reported after the weather event.
Since Wednesday morning, Enel São Paulo has mobilized a record number of teams on the ground, reaching around 1,800 teams throughout the workdays. The gale was the longest ever recorded in the region. According to data from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), gusts reached a maximum of 82.8 km/h, in Mirante de Santana.
The radars of the Emergency Management Center (CGE) of the municipality of São Paulo even recorded a local peak of 98.1 km/h in the Lapa region.
