The new National Security Strategy (NSS), in which USA explains its main geopolitical goals, adjusts the tenor of the rivalry with China and promotes reconciliation with China Russiapraised by Moscow. In doing so, it confirms a world of “spheres of influence” in which Washington subjects all of America to the Monroe Doctrine.
And Europe? Donald Trump sees them as “decadent” and “weak”. According to the NSS, it is heading towards the “disappearance of its civilization” due to the new migratory flows and lives “suffocated” by the rules of the European Union (EU), and this trend can only be “corrected” by the right-wing “patriotic” parties, which, as the diplomat Josep Borrell responded, seek “a white Europe divided into nations”.
Authoritarians don’t like that
