Nottingham Forest continue to disappoint their fans and it was no different this Tuesday 30/12 against Everton. Play at home, at City groundand needing to win to escape the relegation zone, saw the Liverpool team win 2-0. James Garner and Barry, one in each half, scored the goals. It was a match in which Everton were very effective. He had little possession of the ball (32%) and only shot on goal three times. But two of them came into play. Nottingham, despite its volume, since it managed 20 shots (including seven on target), did not score a goal. Pickford.
Thus, Nottingham suffered its third defeat in a row, remaining on 18 points, still the first outside the relegation zone. Fortunately, the West Hamfirst inside, also stumbled. Thus, the gap remains at four points, while the London team has 14. Everton reaches 28 points, in eighth place.
How did Everton win?
Everton scored the first goal in the 18th minute, while McNeil finds Garner well placed in the box on the right. Gibbs-White’s marking came late and the striker struck hard into goalkeeper John’s right corner. It was an unfair result, as Nottingham had more volume, almost scoring from an Igor Jesus header and, above all, from a free kick taken by Zinchenkoin which the guardian Pickford made a superb save.
In the second half, the fans were supportive, Nottingham came out on top, but Everton had plenty of defensive quality, managing to quash most of the attacks. And when he launched the counterattack, it was dangerous. From the 30th minute onwards they began to dominate, with at least two dangerous moves and in the third, in the 34th minute, the straw broke the camel’s back for the home team. Garner made a big move to the left, cutting off two markers and sending Barry free into the zone. So, he kicked, moving John and defining Everton’s important victory.
