The examination of the corpus delicti carried out on the soldier of the Brazilian army Kelvin Barros da Silva (featured photo), 21 years old, who confessed to having killed Corporal Maria de Lourdes Freire Matos, 25 years old, said he had been injured by a blunt object. Despite this, the soldier said he was not attacked.

The examination carried out by the technical police service of the Civil Police of the Federal District (PCDF) reveals injuries in certain areas of the man’s body:
- Recent, reddish abrasions in the right lower quadrant of the abdomen.
- Linear and recent abrasions, with hematic crust on the right forearm and on the left lumbar region;
- Red bruising on the dorsal spine: A spot on the skin caused by the rupture of small blood vessels beneath the surface, which release blood into the tissues.
Despite the bruises recorded, Kelvin is in good condition, conscious and oriented.
The examination reveals that the injuries caused were recent and not old. According to delegate Paulo Noritika, there is no evidence of a physical struggle against the victim, who was sitting when she was found with her charred body.

The crime
Maria de Lourdes was a corporal in the army, which she had joined five months ago as a musician. She was found dead by firefighters (CBMDF).
The feminicide occurred in the 1st Guards Cavalry Regiment (RCG). In a statement to the Civil Police (PCDF), Kelvin Barros confessed to being responsible and said that the crime occurred after an argument between the two.

According to Kelvin Barros, they had a relationship. “After an argument in which the woman asked him to break up with his current girlfriend and take her back, as promised by the perpetrator, the victim pulled out his firearm,” commented delegate Paulo Noritika.

“He allegedly held the pistol while she tried to load it. In the meantime, he managed to reach the victim’s military knife, which was on her waist, and hit her deeply in the neck,” detailed the delegate.
Paulo Noritika also said that the victim was found with the bladed weapon at the scene of the injury. “After that, in desperation, he grabbed a lighter and some alcohol, set fire to the place where Funfarra is based and fled, taking the gun with him and getting rid of it,” he said. Firefighters were called to put out the flames.
Soldier Kelvin Barros da Silva saw his arrest transformed into preventive arrest this Saturday (12/06) after undergoing a custody hearing at the Custody Hearing Center (NAC).
