With the objective of promotion between the eyebrows, and in its desire to provide the team with the best possible elements in view of the second round, Insolac Caja 87 once again moved to the market to acquire the services … by Ezekiel Alley, a confirmed scorer of the Second FEB who is 26 years old, measures 1.85 meters, can play as a point guard and shooter and comes from Maderas Sorlí Benicarló, of the Eastern Group, in which he played for three months, since September 21.
“The player received an offer from another team in the Second FEB, from the West Group, a fact that the club does not understand when the player has a current contract with another team,” Benicarló said in a press release this Sunday in which he reported the departure of this American born in Tucson, Arizona, who does not occupy a position outside the EU because he has a Togolese passport. The great support of Alley, whose signing has already been announced by the Sevillian entity, is undoubtedly his time at Melilla last season, with which he achieved promotion to the Primera FEB. With the Autonomous City team, he recorded averages of 11.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 41% outside shooting.
This campaign, in Benicarló, he evolved with similar parameters: 12.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 40% on three-point shots (22/55), which increased to 52% in November, in approximately 26 minutes on the court. Alley, as we can see, is a scorer who can contribute in other facets of the game, like rebounding or generating for his teammates. Additionally, he is gifted with a good perimeter hand, his great virtue. His profile, in terms of playing style, could be compared to that of the Bahamian Garvin Clarke, who averages 11.2 points, 2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and nearly 30% on three-point shots in Seville (17/57).
New Insolac player Caja 87 trained at Arizona Western, Fullerton College, Northwest Nazarene Crusaders and Portland State Vikings before making his professional basketball debut with Amics Castelló in Primera FEB during the 2022-23 campaign (43% in triples). From there he moved down a level to the Second FEB with CB Prat, and the following year he joined Melilla, achieving promotion.

A replacement for Bertain
Since Bertain’s injury on matchday three against Coto Córdoba, Caja 87 has been scouring the market looking for a high-caliber striker who knows the league or who has played in Spain in higher categories. But there he encountered the difficulty of recruiting unbalanced players for the Second FEB, the third national team, in which not everyone is willing to compete. Ultimately, he did the rest for Alley, who has just competed at this level and knows what it means to be promoted. In addition, the green and red club retains the place outside the EU that the category regulations authorize for each team.
The signing of Alley is the fifth movement in the Caja 87 market with the season started after the departures of Okafor and Cebolla, and the signings of Walter Junior Cabral, Rakocevic (with a temporary contract) and, now, Alley, who shares agents with Jankovic and with the former green-red players Wyatt and Bulatovic.
