Since 2022, the driver from Pernambuco has been part of Ferrari’s youth programme, and his recent performances have reinforced the team’s commitment. When asked about the team’s potential interest in Fornaroli in the future, Vasseur acknowledged the observation, but noted that the Brazilian already occupies a priority position in the planning.

“Absolutely, but we already have Rafael Camara, who has won Formula 3, and next year, he will be in Formula 2 and will probably do some TL1 testing with us and certainly tests with the previous cars,” the Frenchman told AutoRacer.

While Max Verstappen continues to compete for the Formula 1 championship, Qatar has already identified another champion this weekend: Leonardo Fornaroli clinched the Formula 2 title by finishing second in Losail.

The Italian race is for Invicta, the same team that had Gabriel Bortoletto champion in 2024 and which will include Kamara in the 2026 Formula 2 season.
