“Fafá de Belém, the Musical,” which will premiere on January 15 at Teatro Riachuelo in Rio de Janeiro, tickets are on sale now. Celebrating 50 years of the singer’s career from Barra, the production chronicles her life from childhood to stardom, with three actresses in the lead role: Lucinha Lenz plays her in adulthood, while Helga Nemetic and the singer’s granddaughter Laura Saab experience, respectively, the beginning of their careers and childhood.

  • Featured performances: “Macacos”, Burchat, Marisa Orth and Miguel Falabella, Toni Ramos and Dennis Fraga
  • Schedule: “Build a Musical,” about Paulo Gustavo, premieres in May; Tickets are on sale now

Directed and created by Joe Santana, with a script by Edoardo Ricci and Gustavo Gasparani (who is also the artistic director), the show blends the artist’s life with the myths and legends of the people of the Amazon rainforest, where she was born. The story begins during the recording of a documentary honoring Vava’s 50-year career, and he begins to reminisce about his career during the interview.
