Employees of the Badajoz Provincial Delegation were expelled this Tuesday, around 2 p.m., due to a false alarm caused by “a suspicious package with visible cables” addressed to the former secretary general of the PSOE and candidate for the Commission, Miguel Ángel Gallardo, which turned out to be two hearing aids.
Agents of the National Police went to the Provincial Palace, who collaborated in the evacuation of the building located on Obispo Street, as well as agents of TEDAX, specialized in the neutralization and deactivation of explosive devices.
Sources from the Provincial Delegation assured that the event, which caused great anticipation in the center of Badajoz, very close to the town hall, will be the subject of an investigation to report the facts.
It turns out that Gallardo left the Provincial Council last May after ten years at the head of the provincial institution to become an autonomous deputy, a move in which his political opponents saw the interest of the socialist leader in being qualified, since his decision coincided with his prosecution for the alleged “connection” of Pedro Sánchez’s brother.
Furthermore, this event comes just one day after Gallardo presented his resignation as regional secretary of the PSOE following the historic disaster suffered by the Socialists in the elections of December 21, where they lost 10 seats (from 28 to 18 deputies) and more than 108,000 votes.
