An easyJet flight between Malaga and London Gatwick was involved in a surreal incident which shocked travelers. Several passengers accused a british family to try embark inside plane with … the corpse of her grandmotheran 89-year-old woman, posing as sleeping person.
According to the British media Daily Mail, the elderly woman was brought on board the plane in a wheelchair by five of his relatives. When asked about the woman’s condition at the time of boarding, the relatives assured the ground staff that she was ill and that she was simply she had fallen asleep.
The English newspaper reveals that certain witnesses claim to have heard relatives justify the situation to employees by saying: “It’s okay, she’s just tired”, and they even added: “GOOD, we are doctors“.
The plan initially seemed to work, as the group managed to get the woman into a seat at the back of the plane. However, as the plane was preparing to take off after 11 a.m., the crew the cabin driver noticed that the the passenger had diedwhat forced stop the plane dramatically before leaving the track.
Passenger outrage
Petra Boddington, one of the passengers on the flight, told the Daily Mail of her disbelief at what happened: “What were the easyJet ground staff thinking today? “They asked the family five times if the woman was okay… and she clearly wasn’t!” Boddington described this, at a glanceTHE the woman seemed “Already deceased, collapsed And unconscious in a wheelchair.”

Another traveler, Tracy-Ann Kitching, expressed her discomfort on social networks, also pointing to the responsibility of the special assistance service for passengers with reduced mobility. “I saw how they took her in a wheelchair to the plane; someone held him THE head as they passed by me! A doctor on board confirmed that she was already dead when they sat him down,” he said.
The official version and the delay
Faced with accusations from passengers, an easyJet spokesperson denied that a deceased person had been allowed to board. The company assured that the passenger had a certificate of aptitude able to fly (fit to fly) and that she was alive when she boarded the plane.
“The plane returned to the parking lot before takeoff because a customer on board requested urgent medical assistance. The flight was received by emergency services, but unfortunately the customer died,” the airline said.
THE Civil Guard of Málaga confirmed that its agents went to the plane and that the woman was declared dead inside of this one, who was to leave shortly after 11 a.m. last Thursday.
The incident caused a delay of 12 hoursand the flight did not finally take off until 10:47 p.m. No happened arrests among the parents.
