Fatal head-on accident at the start of the long weekend

SANTA FE.- Bad start to the long weekend in this province. One farmer died and two were injured in a head-on collision on Provincial Road No. 6 between Highway 19 (Santa Fe-San Francisco) and the town of Esperanza. One of them was taken to the Dr. José María Cullen was admitted to the provincial capital, where his health was reported to be complicated.

The accident occurred a few minutes after 10 p.m. on Friday, between a Chevrolet Onix car and a Toyota Hilux truck, in a double yellow line sector, between Pujato Norte and Franck.

As a result of the impact, the driver of the car died at the scene of the accident and the two occupants of the other vehicle were injured, which is why they were urgently taken to the hospital in the capital Santa Fe.

Hours later, some details about the incident emerged. The deceased person was identified as Arnaldo Senn, a resident of the city of Esperanza, living in the El Chelito neighborhood.

Senn was driving the car that was involved in the collision with a truck on the section of Route 6 at kilometer 58.5, a few meters from the toll booth.

After the impact, vehicle traffic was suspended for more than six hours to facilitate the work of security authorities.

According to the police report, the people who miraculously saved their lives have, in addition to skull injuries, abdominal and pelvic trauma, which are classified as severe.

From the headquarters of Regional Unit XI (Las Colonias Department based in Esperanza) of the Santa Fe Police Department, the Flagrania prosecutor in charge of that city was informed of the news.

The public prosecutor ordered the rigorous criminal investigation to be carried out, a task that was assigned to the employees of the Scientific Division of the Investigative Police (PDI). In addition, he requested a detailed medical report on the health of the two men who remain hospitalized in Franck.

Victim of another collision

In addition to this tragic accident, a series of fatal accidents occurred last Friday afternoon. At kilometer 107 of the Brigadier General Estanislao López highway, which connects the two largest cities in the province, Santa Fe and Rosario, a Foton TM1 truck and a Mercedes-Benz truck with a trailer collided, for reasons still under investigation.

The driver of the first vehicle suffered very serious injuries and his body was trapped in the cabin, requiring the intervention of firefighters from the city of Coronda to rescue the dying driver.

The victim was then taken to José María Cullen Hospital, where he eventually died.
