The Federal Revenue Service is alerting taxpayers about the new scam that has spread across the country. Criminals use victims’ name, CPF and even real addresses to send false accusations in the agency’s name. The messages arrive via WhatsApp, ICMS or email and are directed to fake websites that imitate the appearance of gov.br.
The IRS emphasizes that it does not charge for links, messaging apps, or emails. Any official pending number appears exclusively on the ECAC, accessible via the agency’s website, entered manually in the browser.
