The 13th National Congress of the Unified Police Union (SUP), which brings together union representatives and agents from all over Spain, in this year’s edition includes the participation of the main leadership of the Popular Party, as confirmed by the party itself. The event will take place in Toledo on Wednesday, December 3, at 12:30 p.m., with the intervention of the President of the Formation, Alberto Nuñez Viejo, accompanied by Coca Gamarra, Deputy Secretary for Institutional Renewal of the Popular Party. This event, organized at the main National Assembly Forum of SUP, reflects interest in discussing key issues related to safety, working conditions and institutional cooperation in the field of policing.
According to information published by the Popular Party, the presence of the two leaders at the union conference represents a gesture towards dialogue with the police community at an appropriate time within the social and professional calendar of the sector. The conference brings together not only members of the police force, but also elected officials and representatives of various parties, allowing clients’ concerns and demands to be addressed in a pluralistic space.
The Popular Party explained that the participation of its supreme leader, alongside Gamra, is part of the institutional agenda set for this meeting. According to the formation, the primary goal is to present the party’s vision and proposals on issues of citizen security and the working conditions of the police squad, as well as strengthening institutional and political cooperation with state security agencies and forces.
The SUP, as the majority union in the sector, brings together representatives from all over Spain at this annual congress, which, according to the Popular Party, makes it one of the main meeting points and union debate on police affairs in the country. Traditionally, this type of meeting not only reviews the main challenges facing this sector, but also serves as a platform to listen to the positions of political groups with national representation.
Sources from the Popular Party stressed the importance of the agenda set for the conference, which includes the intervention of Figo and Gamarra as part of the dialogue between the union structure and political institutions. This dynamic allows, according to training, the message and position of the Popular Party to be conveyed on issues of concern to agents and their union structures.
The SUP conference in Toledo takes place in a context where job pressures and demands on resources are often discussed, along with strategies for improving effectiveness and security within police forces. The analysis of institutional cooperation between different departments and security forces lies at the heart of the concerns addressed.
According to the Popular Party itself, the conference agenda includes the presence of officials and experts in public security, as well as discussions and appearances that seek to respond to the concerns of the body’s members. Feijóo’s intervention is scheduled for around noon, according to the schedule provided by the organization and published by the party.
The media coverage of the event, as detailed by the Popular Party, coincides with the formation’s strategy of strengthening its relations with the security forces and demonstrating its institutional support for the work carried out by the agents. Gamra, responsible for institutional renewal, included this event in the agenda of activities with the aim of reflecting the training’s commitment to direct and open dialogue with union representatives.
The 13th National Congress of the SUP in Toledo constitutes, as the Popular Party emphasized, one of the main areas of dialogue between the world of police unions and the national political sphere. The assistance of Feijóo and Gamarra, in this sense, acquires a symbolic and operational dimension in the relationship with the police sector and in proposals affecting the work and organization of the country’s police forces.
