Former BBB Felipe Prior can be arrested at any time after yet another court conviction; according to the journalist
The legal result involving Felipe Avant he has gained a new chapter that brings him closer to the end of his sentence. The architect, who became nationally known after participating in the BB 20another attempt to overturn the conviction failed. The Superior Court of Justice confirmed the decision already confirmed in second instance by the Court of Justice of São Paulo (TJSP)paving the way for arrest at any time.
The case dates back to August 2014, when, according to the prosecution, the crime took place after a party. Although the episode was not officially reported until 2020, during the public broadcast of the reality show, the process progressed based on the report of the victim, who said she was drunk and in a vulnerable situation. At the time, Felipe Avant and the young woman studied at Mackenzie Presbyterian University and lived in the northern area of the capital of São Paulo.
Confirmed decision and other processes
As revealed by the chronicler Gabriel Perlinethe STJ rejected the appeal presented by the defense and reaffirmed the interpretation of the TJSP. According to the complaint, after offering to give him a ride, the former BBB allegedly stopped the car on a dark street, initiated non-consensual physical contact and then forced sexual intercourse. The victim reported saying “No” several times and tried to free himself, but he said physical force was used, including pulling his hair and pinning his arms.
In July 2023, Felipe Avant He was sentenced at first instance to six years in semi-open prison. However, in September of the following year, the TJSP not only upheld the conviction, but also extended the sentence to eight years, by unanimous decision of the judges. The architect responds to three other similar approaches; in one of them he was recently acquitted.
At the beginning of this month, the São Paulo court also decided to acquit, in the second instance, another charge related to a case that occurred in Votuporanga, in 2015. Despite this, the conviction maintained by the STJ remains valid and represents a definitive step in the process, confirming that resources are exhausted and that the execution of the sentence becomes imminent.
