Female predators manipulate, stalk, drug and rape victims

The Civil Police in the Federal District (PCDF) has arrested a serial predator of women. He has been identified as 54-year-old Jose Neton Gomez Melo and, over the years, has allegedly committed numerous crimes against women, such as sexual violence, stalking and financial fraud.

According to the 18th Police Station (Brazil) team, José has an extensive and disturbing history of physical, sexual, psychological and property violence.

He was arrested on Friday morning (5/12) in a hotel in Brazil. This action was supported by the Águia 36 intelligence service of the Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF).

The report did not specify the position of Jose Neton’s defense. The field remains open for potential placements.

According to investigations, the suspect approached the victims, most of whom were adult women, at a time when he was suffering from emotional fragility. He took advantage of the situation and built loving relationships characterized by affection, emotional dependence, and promises of stability.

After gaining trust, he began the process of financially exploiting the victim. He requested loans in the victims’ names and used their credit cards and personal information.

Furthermore, José also simulated acquisitions of non-existent goods. In one case, a woman reported losing about R$200,000 under the pretext of purchasing a rural property that never existed.

Meanwhile, the investigation showed that Jose adopted sexual and physical violence against the victims, including doping with Clonazepam to maintain sexual relations while the victims were unconscious.

It is also alleged that the author photographed and filmed naked and drugged women, and even offered the material to third parties as a form of self-promotion. One of the victims suffered injuries that required surgical intervention.

Victims also reported ongoing harassment. According to reports, Jose worked as a security guard in front of their house and spent the day monitoring their routines.

In some episodes, eyewitnesses claim that the person under investigation used firearms to intimidate him and enhance his psychological strength. According to 18th Police, although there is no legal registration of the weapons, there are multiple reports of illegal possession.

So far, three women from Brazil have been officially identified as victims. Their reports are similar and present the same pattern of emotional grooming, emotional manipulation, sexual or psychological violence, and appropriation.

Other witnesses claim that he repeated this behavior with other women, some of whom have not yet been identified or located, in addition to being active on social media to find potential new victims.

From investigations to arrest

According to the 18th Director, an investigation was initiated against José for crimes of menacing, rape of a vulnerable person, psychological violence and violence against property. However, after new reports emerged, the Civil Police Team of the Federal District (PCDF) expanded the scope of the investigation.

Analysis of the evidence collected shows that the person being investigated has already appeared in at least eight records since 2012, which involve assaults, armed threats, stalking behavior and intimidation.

After learning of the latest allegations, José Neton fled the Federal District and hid in his adoptive mother’s home in Serra dos Emores (MG).

After the representation of the 18th MP, the joint action of the Civil Police of the Federal District, the General Ministry of Defense Forces and the Judiciary led to the granting of preventive detention and search and seizure procedures.
