The employee of the Nascentes das Gerais toll booth, in Itaúna (MG-050 highway), helped the Minas Gerais Civil Police (PCMG) discover the death of Henay Rosa Gonçalves Amorim, 31 years old. On Sunday (14/12), her then-boyfriend, Alison de Araújo Mesquita, 43, faked a road accident to cover up the crime of femicide when he passed the scene with Henay, who was already dead.
Henay and Alison had a difficult relationship and, the day before the femicide, the couple, who lived together, started an argument that lasted until the night, when they arrived from a party. During the fight in the apartment, the suspect said he punched him in the nose, which caused bleeding in the living room.

According to Alison, the next day the couple woke up early and went to Divinópolis. During the drive, security camera footage recorded the moment the couple’s car arrived at the tollbooth with the boy in the passenger seat and Enay, “totally unconscious,” according to PCMG, in the driver’s seat.

MG: Find out who is the woman who was killed by her boyfriend who faked an accident
When passing through the toll booth, the employee observed the unconscious woman and became suspicious of the situation. PCMG said it was a key player in concluding the investigation.
“The employee had asked him (Alison) what was happening, and he was sweating excessively, sweating a lot. According to this employee, he was so nervous that he forgot to collect his change. He was in a situation, as if he wanted it to end quickly, to be able to quickly exit the toll booth,” said Flávio Destro, delegate of the Civil Police of Ouro Preto and Pouso Alegre.
When the employee announced the change, Alison reached out to accept it and explained that Henay would have a “pressure drop.” After that, the toll booth employee offered a team to help the girl and asked her to stop further to receive help.
“He would have said positively (to get help), but he started the car and headed towards Divinópolis, without stopping. Faced with these atypical circumstances, she contacted her immediate superior, who transmitted the images from the security cameras to the civil police. It was a military police officer who had access to this image and transmitted it to the family. And the family contacted the civil police, that’s where all these procedures began,” added the delegate.
Accident simulation after the toll
The alleged accident occurred after the vehicle the couple was traveling in took a wrong turn and hit a tourist bus on MG-050. The collision occurred approximately nine minutes after passing the toll booth. In the video recorded by the toll security cameras, the woman appears in the driver’s seat.
“From the footage there, she was completely like that, without any reaction. In the second moment of the video, she leans forward and, with his left arm, (he) turns his back to try to hide the fact that she was dead,” PCMG reported.
Alison claimed her girlfriend woke up after the toll booth, sparking a new argument. According to Alison, the victim regained consciousness and told her she was going to kill him. She then allegedly threw the vehicle against the minibus.
However, his version is refuted by the PCMG. A witness to the accident, who was inside the minibus, got out and tried to help him. He approached the victim and, according to him, her body was cold.
According to the Legal Medical Institute (IML), for the person to start cooling their body, it takes at least one to two hours before death.
Arrested at the vigil
Alison was arrested on Monday morning (12/15), during Henay’s wake, in Divinópolis (MG). In addition to the video, the civil police highlighted contradictions between the dynamics of the accident and the injuries presented by the victim. According to the investigation, the injuries noted on the victim’s body were not compatible with the sole impact of the crash.
The investigation into this case was further investigated after investigators began to consider the possibility that the victim was already unconscious before the accident. Due to the inconsistencies, new expertise was requested. The burial was postponed until further examinations were carried out.
According to the analysis of experts who reviewed the footage of the accident, it is unlikely that the collision alone caused the woman’s death. The case therefore began to be officially treated from the angle of a possible homicide, with signs of femicide.
