A 38-year-old pharmacist was stabbed to death by her ex-husband this Sunday morning (12/7) inside her own house, located in Jardim do Estádio, in Santo André, metropolitan region of São Paulo. The couple’s 11-year-old daughter witnessed the crime and asked a neighbor for help.
According to the police report, the crime was discovered by a resident who was passing on the street around 7:30 a.m. and noticed the couple’s daughter, an 11-year-old girl, in pajamas and with bloodstains, asking for help. Upon entering the residence, the resident found Daniele Guedes Antunes suffering from stab wounds and the man, also 38 years old, sitting next to the victim. The child confirmed that his father had attacked his mother.

According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the man confessed to the crime. Daniele was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) and transported to hospital, but she did not survive her injuries. The knife used in the attack was seized and a forensic investigation was ordered. The case was registered as feminicide in the 6th police district of Santo André. The author remains in custody at the disposal of the court.

On November 29, in Várzea Paulista, interior of São Paulo, a man attacked a friend with a frying pan during an argument. The victim, aged 41, was rescued in serious condition, with cuts to his face and a compound fracture to his right hand. The case took place on Victorio Spinucci Street, in the Jardim Promeca neighborhood, according to the victim’s son’s report.

According to the SSP, the city of São Paulo recorded a record number of feminicides in 2025: there were 53 cases between January and October. Even without the events of November and December, this figure is the highest since 2015, when the historic series began.
