The renewal of Filipe Luís, two days before the end of his contract with Flamengo, was only possible because the coach gave in in financial negotiations with the club.
The agreement until 2027 was sealed on the basis proposed by Flamengo in its latest proposal: 4 million euros net, excluding taxes, per season, for Filipe and his two deputies.
This amount represents a monthly gain of R$2.1 million for the coach, assistant Ivan Palanco and physical trainer Diogo Linhares. The appreciation was therefore quite significant.
Filipe Luis even asked for an envelope of 5 million euros per year, excluding taxes, as revealed by the blog, and Flamengo would still have to pay the commission of businessman Jorge Mendes.

Negotiations have dragged on in recent days and club president Luiz Eduardo Baptista has threatened to walk away from the deal. He did not give up on the final proposal of 4 million euros per season.
Director José Boto therefore insisted on negotiating with the agent. Without success. It was then that Filipe Luís resumed direct dialogue with the executive to end the soap opera on Sunday evening.
The attrition between the coach and President Bap had already set in. With Boto, who was trying to compromise on values, it was possible to tighten the rope further and respond to the interests of Flamengo and Filipe.
