Joao Paulo Magalhaes Lens is seeking to strengthen ties with Mo Al Thani, the sheikh of the country’s ruling family and owner of Paris Saint-Germain.
João Paulo Magalhaes Lens, president of the Botafogo Federation, met with Mo Al Thani, the sheikh of the Qatari royal family, the third richest family in the world, during a visit to Doha to attend a business conference. Information comes from “J” this Wednesday (3/12).
The black and white president’s meeting has a reason. After all, Joao Paulo has been on a collision course with John Textor and now “seeks to strengthen relations while considering possible financial investments in the club”.
Mo Al Thani posted on social media: “Thank you for welcoming my brother Joao Paulo to Doha. He welcomed us with so much love in Rio, and it was a pleasure to see him here. Doha will always be your home, my friend.”
The Qatari royal family owns the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the sovereign wealth fund of the State of Qatar affiliated with Qatar Sports Investment (QSI), which controls Paris Saint-Germain. Thus, in practice, Al Thani owns the French club.
Finally, the Al Thani family is the third richest family in the world, with an estimated wealth of approximately 172 billion US dollars (about 913.4 billion Brazilian reals). Wealth comes from companies in the oil and gas sector.
Conflict
Botafogo Social (BFR) continues to invest in attacks against Eagle Football Holdings (EFH) and John Textor. In fact, the association requested that the American businessman be included as a defendant in the operation between the two parties and the Sudanese Armed Forces in Botafogo in TJRJ. Furthermore, the BFR again asked the British company to pay a deposit of at least R$155 million. The value represents, after all, 10% of the indicated debt, which would be R$1.5 billion. Thero Arruda, CEO of SAF, revealed that short-term liabilities amount to R$700 million.
