
In a decision on the arrest of former state deputy Tiego Raimundo dos Santos Silva, TH Jóias, signed on Monday, Minister Alexandre de Moraes ordered his immediate transfer to the Differentiated Disciplinary Regime (RDD). In Rio de Janeiro, this regime is implemented at Bangu 1, the state’s only maximum security penitentiary. Subsequently, he must be sent to one of the five federal penitentiaries, located in Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná, Rio Grande do Norte, Rondônia and Brasília.

“I also determine, in accordance with articles 3, II, of Decree 6.877/09, 3, of Law 11.671/08 and 52, §§ 1 and 3, of Law 7.210/84, the immediate transfer of Tiego Raimundo dos Santos Silva, TH Jóias, to the differentiated disciplinary regime, to be carried out in the federal penitentiary system,” the decision indicates.
In general, this regime can be applied to prisoners on remand or sentenced. The maximum duration is 360 days within the limit of one sixth of the sentence imposed. In the event of serious misconduct, this period may be extended by an additional 360 days.
The RDD detainee is held in an individual cell and receives weekly visits from a maximum of two people, not including children, for two hours. In addition, he can leave his cell for two hours a day to sunbathe.
The Federal Police arrested Judge Macário Júdice Neto, rapporteur of the case of Tiego Raimundo dos Santos Silva, known as TH Jóias, at the Federal Regional Court of the 2nd Region (TRF-2). The information was anticipated by columnist Lauro Jardim. The arrest took place as part of Operation Nail and Flesh 2, launched to investigate the role of public officials in leaking confidential information about police operations. In the first phase of the action, on the 3rd of this month, the former president of the Legislative Assembly of Rio (Alerj), the dismissed state deputy Rodrigo Bacellar (União Brasil), who was also the target of searches this Tuesday, was arrested.
According to the PF, Bacellar transmitted information to TH Joias on the operation which led to his arrest. TH Joias is accused of drug trafficking, corruption, money laundering and arms trafficking on behalf of Comando Vermelho.
The agents executed a preventive arrest warrant and aim to execute ten more search and seizure warrants, issued by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF). The teams meet in Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo. Macário Júdice arrived around 8:30 a.m. at the PF Superintendence in central Rio.
