The State Civil Defense published on Friday evening (12/26) a list of the highest temperatures recorded in the state of São Paulo throughout the day. In at least 11 cities in São Paulo, the unusual heat caused official thermometers to rise above 40°C.
According to Civil Defense, the Vale do Ribeira region had the highest number of cities with the hottest temperatures in São Paulo.
In Miracatu, thermometers reached 42.6°C on Friday, the highest mark in the entire state of São Paulo.
Then, also in Vale do Ribeira, the town of Pedro de Toledo recorded 41.9°C, very close to Sete Barras, where the temperature was 41.7°C.

Among the towns where the heat exceeded 40°C, only São Simão, in the Ribeirão Preto region, is not in the Ribeira Valley.
In the capital São Paulo, the heat broke a record for the second day in a row and raised the thermometer to 36.2°C at 3 p.m. in Mirante de Santana, north of the city.
