The woman found dead and charred in the toilet of her house, in sector 9 of Águas Lindas de Goiás, surrounding the Federal District, was identified as Marinalva Silva Braga, 38 years old. The body was found on Thursday morning (12/18), after neighbors called the military police early in the morning.
According to information provided to the Prime Minister, a neighbor called the battalion early in the morning, around 2 a.m., after noticing a fire in the house. Firefighters were called, extinguished the flames and found the victim’s body in the toilet of the property. There were indications that Marinalva died of asphyxiation before the fire was set.

Reports collected at the scene indicate that, on the evening of the crime, the victim had an argument with her boyfriend. In his statement, he indicated that he left the residence and returned home after the disagreement.
Versions presented
Before the body was located, the Goiás Civil Police (PCGO) had already launched a Verification of the Origin of Information (VPI) to investigate the facts and verify the veracity of the versions presented. After providing initial clarifications, the man was released while the investigation continued.
The Goiás military police responded to the incident and the civil police are investigating the motivations for the crime. The matter remains under investigation.
