Main highlight of Flamengo’s season, Giorgian De Arrascaeta was ranked among the best players in the world by the British newspaper The Guardian. The periodical publishes each year a ranking of the biggest names of the season and the Rubro-Nègre half appears in 87th position.
Arrascaeta appears ahead of names like Griezzmann, Rafael Leão, Gvardiol and famous goalkeeper Neuer. “The majestic playmaker returns to the list after a two-year absence, having led a historic Campeonato Brasileiro and Libertadores double for Brazilian giants Flamengo,” the newspaper wrote of the Uruguayan.
So far, Arrascaeta has 25 goals and 20 assists in 63 games for Flamengo this season. The number could further increase if the Uruguayan midfielder participates in the goals in the intercontinental final, against PSG, this Wednesday (12/17).
