Léo Pereira and Danilo scored the winning goals for Flamengo last Saturday (13th), against the Pyramids. The red and black defense decided the match and put the team in the final of the Intercontinental Cup.
Taking this hook, it is worth highlighting that Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira and Danilo are essential pieces for Flamengo throughout the season. Ortiz has scored four times so far, Léo Pereira six and Danilo five.
The trio has 15 goals in 2025, the same number as Bruno Henrique alone. Together, Flamengo defenders have scored more goals than the following attackers:
- Memphis Depay (Corinthians): 11 goals
- Gabigol (Cruzeiro): 13 goals
- Rafael Borré (International): eight goals
- Deyverson (Fortaleza): nine goals
Flamengo in search of the world
Filipe Luís’ team is qualified for the Intercontinental final and will face Luis Henrique’s super PSG. The decision is scheduled for Wednesday (17), at 2 p.m., in Brasilia, at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Al Rayyan.
Rubro-Negro beat Cruz Azul and Pyramids and secured their presence in the final. PSG, for its part, will arrive this Sunday in Qatar to compete in the final.
The last time a Brazilian team beat a European team in the final of the competition was in 2011. That year, Corinthians beat Frank Lampard’s Chelsea. Flamengo can now conquer the world for the second time in its history.
