Flamengo is ‘too prepared’ for PSG

After Flamengo’s 2-0 victory against Pyramids in the Intercontinental Cup this Saturday (13/12), defender Léo Pereira spoke of his expectations for the grand final against PSG. After all, the French team won the Champions League and is considered the best in the world. So much so that, according to Flamengo coach Filipe Luís, the only way to win is to achieve perfection. For Léo Pereira, the challenge is daunting, but Flamengo is ready.

“We know it will be a great privilege for all of us to take part in this match. The best players in the world are there. But we are very prepared. And we hope to have a great match,” he said.

Léo Pereira scored the first goal of the match which guaranteed Flamengo the Challenger Cup. Thus, in the 23rd minute of the first half, he received a ball from Arrascaeta and headed it into the opposing goalkeeper’s net. Danilo increased the score in the second half, from the 6th minute. Another title for Flamengo, who have been winning all the trophies lately.

And Léo Pereira’s goal also crowns a great performance from the defender. Thus, he hailed this successful phase during the post-match interview against Ahmad bin Ali.

“It’s a blessed year. I just have to thank everyone who supports me and who is with me every day to encourage me. And thank God too, who is the one who allows me to stand, to carry this load of games. It is He who gives me all this inspiration for what I do this year,” he said.
