With the 2-0 victory over Pyramids in Qatar, Flamengo confirmed their presence in the final of the Intercontinental Cup. The opponent is already defined: Paris Saint-Germain, who is already in the decision since they are champions of the Champions League. And the high level of the rival does not scare coach Filipe Luís.
– All opponents are different, but PSG is the best team in the world. He showed it, he won the Champions League. He is here in this tournament because he is the best. And we, with all the humility in the world, will try to win to make history – the coach said shortly after the semi-final victory on TV Globo.

The coach wasn’t the only one to deliver a hopeful speech. Uruguayan Varela echoed Filipe and also said he believed in the possibility of winning the world tournament. The decision against the France team will take place next Wednesday, at 2 p.m. (Brasilia time).
– We know their quality. Filipe said they were currently the best team in the world. There, I agree with that. But I think it’s possible, because this team really wants to continue making history – Varela commented on the Sportv channel.

The defender highlighted PSG’s broad favoritism, but predicts Flamengo will be well prepared to face the European giant.

It will be very difficult, but we will do our part, we will try to neutralize their weapons and try, one way or another, to play a beautiful, special game and, who knows, to win.
