Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) manages to expand his audience on social networks thanks to the visibility he gains. A Datafolha survey published on December 7 showed that only 8% of respondents believe Bolsonaro should support his eldest son. On the other hand, 22% would prefer former first lady Michelle. Another 20%, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos-SP). Flávio is also numerically behind his brother Eduardo.
During the last trading session of last week (12/05), the news that Bolsonaro had chosen Flávio, published first-hand by the columnist Paulo Cappelli, from Metropolisescaused the dollar to rise and the stock market to fall.
Planalto reaction
Interlocutors of the executive power believe that Flávio’s official status favors President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and makes the ground more favorable for his re-election than if the conflict took place with Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).
Indeed, the senator, currently behind Lula in all poll scenarios, is an adversary who has more difficulty rallying the Centrão and moderate voters to his candidacy, because he is naturally rejected because he is part of the Bolsonaro clan.
