Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) estimated, in a statement to the press this Thursday morning (12/25), that the letter in which his father, former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), confirms his choice to run for president next year “removes any shadow of doubt” about his candidacy. “For me, it doesn’t change anything. I think that once again, as many say, they hadn’t heard from him or hadn’t seen a letter signed by him. I think that removes the shadow of any doubt. So, for me, it doesn’t change anything, but, for some people who still didn’t believe it, it could change,” said the Rio parliamentarian.
The eldest son of former President Jair Bolsonaro read a handwritten letter from his father this Thursday morning approving his pre-candidacy for president next year. In the text, Bolsonaro speaks of the “high price” of the battles he faced and of the continuity of the project of his political group. Look:

The former president’s choice for his eldest son was exclusively revealed by Metropoliseson December 5, in Paulo Cappelli’s column.
After reading the letter, Flávio reinforced his request for support for his project. “I just ask that everyone unite. What we need to strive for right now is unity to be able to achieve this common goal, which is to stop the PT from destroying our country.”

Surgery this Thursday
Bolsonaro will have surgery this Thursday to repair two inguinal hernias, one day after leaving the Federal Police (PF) prison. The operation is expected to begin around 9 a.m. and is expected to last approximately four hours. The politician was admitted to DF Star Hospital on Wednesday morning (24/12), under tight security. This is the first time he has been released from prison since his arrest on November 22.
After his release from hospital, which has not yet been set, Bolsonaro is expected to return to prison. His defense can, however, file new requests for humanitarian house arrest with the Federal Court (STF).
