Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) declared this Tuesday (16) that the rapporteur of the putschist plot at the STF (Supreme Federal Court), Minister Alexandre de Moraes, is “procrastinating” to authorize the surgical intervention of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to correct a bilateral inguinal hernia.
“I ask here, once again, to restore common sense to the rapporteur of this process. This is a real and serious risk to health. The doctors who request, prove the need to carry out surgery, and the rapporteur procrastinates, minimizing the need to take care of his (Bolsonaro’s) health. This is unacceptable,” said Flávio.
The senator made this statement to journalists as he left the PF (Federal Police) superintendence in Brasilia, after visiting his father. The MP said the former president had reported leg pain, but today “he was fine” and had no hiccups.
A pre-candidate for the presidency, Flávio arrived at the venue around 9:25 a.m. and left around 10:20 a.m. The meeting was authorized by Moraes. Former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro also visited her husband on Tuesday. Entry is permitted between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Meetings last a maximum of 30 minutes.
On Monday (15), Bolsonaro’s defense (PL) again asked Moraes for urgent authorization for the former president to undergo surgery.
Lawyers say he needs surgery to correct a bilateral inguinal hernia, in addition to additional procedures.
