Flavio responds to Michel’s criticism regarding Ciro’s support: “Authoritarian”

Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) responded on Monday (1/12) to former First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro’s criticism of Bolsonaro’s rapprochement with Ciro Gomez (PSDB) in Ceara. The parliamentarian mentioned in the article that his stepmother was “domineering and embarrassing.”

At an event held in Fortaleza on Sunday (30/11), Michel rebuked Rep. Andre Fernández (PL-CE) for the Liberal Party’s possible support for Cerro’s candidacy for Ceará’s government in 2026. She stated that the alliance contradicts the line defended by the party at the national level.

“Michelle ran over President Bolsonaro himself, who allowed the movement of Rep. Andre Fernández in Ceará. The way she addressed him, perhaps the greatest local leader we have, was authoritarian and embarrassing,” the senator told the article.

Flavio pointed out that there are three powers in Ceara: Bolsonaro, Lula and Ciro. “Assuming Ciro is a candidate for state government and will not be a platform to support Lula, there is a chance that Lula’s local power as president will be reduced,” he said.

Jair Bolsonaro’s eldest son also said that the decision on majority nominations in the states will not be taken by Michel nor Waldemar Costa Neto, the national president of the Liberation Party. According to him, the decision will be taken after an internal discussion among the group.

He added: “The mechanism will be an internal discussion conducted by a group of which she is part, after which the final decision will always be made by Jair Messias Bolsonaro. Michelle is not a politician and needs to understand that the way a decision is made is sometimes more important than the decision itself.”

Flavio talks to Andre Fernandez

The article found that after Michele’s speech, Flavio and Andre Fernandez spoke on the phone on Sunday. According to reports, the eldest son of former President Jair Bolsonaro apologized to Ceara’s deputy on behalf of the family for his stepmother’s speech.

Andre also gained the solidarity of many Liberal Party colleagues in the party’s WhatsApp groups. Party deputies stated that Michele’s speech was “disrespectful” and trampled on her husband, who supported the alliance with Cero in Ceara.
