A Latam airline flight from São Paulo to Milan, Italy, had to make an emergency landing in Fortaleza, Ceará, after a flight attendant fell ill and required medical attention on Saturday night (27/12). According to preliminary information, the crew member suffered a stroke.

What happened
- According to the company, flight LA8072 left São Paulo International Airport, Guarulhos, early Saturday evening (12/27), bound for Milan, Italy.
- During the flight, the plane “had to be diverted to Fortaleza to provide priority medical care to a member of the crew.”
- According to company officials, the flight attendant suffered a stroke during the flight, but Latam did not confirm the information.
- The plane landed in the capital of Ceará around 12:10 a.m. After the flight attendant went down to receive medical treatment, the flight was canceled.
- In a note to Metropolisesthe company said it had “offered assistance to the affected passengers, who were resettled on flight LA 9508 (Fortaleza-Milan), on 12/28 (Sunday)”.
- The new flight to the Italian city took off around 12:30 p.m.
