Public transport users in Florianópolis, the capital of Santa Catarina, will start paying more for bus tickets after the system’s fare schedule was updated.
The new values, which will be charged from January 1, vary depending on the payment method, the type of card used and the line operated, with rates reaching R$20 for long-distance executive services.
With the update, paying with the Citizen Card now costs R$6.20, an increase of 8% compared to the R$5.75 used until then.
The Social Citizen pays R$3.85, while the Student Card has a reduced value of R$3.10. For tourists and workers who use transport vouchers, the fare is R$7.20.
Those who choose to pay in national currency or Pix at the turnstile will pay R$7.70 per ticket. The social rate, paid in cash or in QR Code Pix, has been set at R$5.40.
In the case of long-distance executive lines, the ticket price reaches R$20, reflecting the higher operating cost of this type of service, which covers longer journeys within the municipality.
Price adjustments are annual and respond to contract requirements and inflation.
In addition to the price changes, another update to payment methods will also come into force on January 5, 2026. From this date, it will no longer be possible to pay for tickets in cash on buses and will only be accepted at integration terminals.
