
Fluminense and Vasco face each other this Sunday (14/12), at 2:30 a.m., at the Maracanã in a duel valid for the second leg of the semi-final of the Copa do Brasil. Hours before the ball rolls, Organized supporters of the teams clashed in Rio de Janeiro.
Footage shared on social media shows rivals marching with stones, fireworks and even guns. One of the most shocking scenes of the conflict was the pushed by a Fluminense supporter on a Vasco supporter who fell from a canal.
The confusion started in Edson Passos, north of Rio de Janeiro. There is still no information on arrests or injuries.
Worth a place in the final
The teams will face each other again at the Maracanã this Sunday. In the first match, under Vasco, Gigante da Colina beat Fluminense 2-1 thanks to goals scored by Rayan and Vegetti.
For this weekend’s duel, the team led by coach Fernando Diniz has an advantage on the scoreboard and could lose up to goal difference. Victory by any score or draw guarantees Vasco the Copa do Brasil final.
The other semi-final of the competition is played between Corinthians and Cruzeiro at the Neoquímica Arena. In the capital São Paulo, the ball gets rolling earlier, from 6 p.m. Timão won the first match 1–0 at Mineirão with a goal scored by Memphis Depay in the first half.
