While Fluminense tries to recruit Guilherme Arana, from Atlético-MG, the days of his compatriot Gabriel Fuentes are numbered at the Tricolor. Little used with Luis Zubeldía, the Colombian lost place in the squad, to the point that the coach improvised striker Lavega in his place on the list of players concerned. The information was initially published by Central Fluminense and confirmed by GLOBO. A former Barranquilla Junior, originally from Colombia, Fuentes was hired for $1.2 million (around R$6.6 million at current prices) for 60% of his economic rights. The idea of the tricolor board of directors is to sell the player definitively during the transfer window, but, at the same time, it does not exclude the possibility of a loan with option to buy. One of the possible destinations is precisely Colombian football. Under Zubeldía’s command, Fuentes only entered the field three times and did not start playing in any of them. Without the prestige of the technical staff, the defender was not even registered in the last four matches of the season. On the other hand, Renê established himself as an absolute starter in the second half of the year. With the possible arrival of Arana, Fuentes would become the third option at the left-back position, not counting the possibility of Lavega being tested again in this role, which is Zubeldía’s wish for 2026. About to say goodbye to the flu, the Colombian has 34 games and five assists.
