Fluminense has already started planning for next season. Between possible comings and goings, some players still have an indefinite future. Especially those who were hired with high expectations and received few opportunities, like Ruben Lezcano, Joaquín Lavega and Santiago Moreno. They will thus be tested in Carioca in 2026.
In recent weeks, coach Luis Zubeldía met with management and discussed reinforcements and possible departures. Thus, some names have not yet been ruled out by the coach, who understands that he needed to close the group and therefore gave few testing opportunities. The idea is therefore to take advantage of Carioca to test, mainly, foreigners and young people.
Therefore, names like foreigners Lezcano, Lavega and Moreno, as well as young grassroots players like Riquelme Felipe, should get more opportunities at Carioca. This way, Zubeldía will be able to observe them more in action during matches and not just in training. Their performance can therefore also be essential to avoid attrition of the main team.
Fluminense has decided to divide the squad during the re-presentation in 2026. In this way, part of the group will present on January 2 to start the pre-season. So he will have foreigners and young people from the base. The second, with the main players, will occur on the 8th. Tricolor will debut on January 14 against Madureira, at the Maracanã.
