Forcepoint, a global cybersecurity company, and Tuvis, a communications channel compliance solutions platform, announce a technology integration to monitor and protect interactions made by messaging applications in the commercial context.
The partnership aims to manage the flow of data in applications widely used in daily business life, such as WhatsApp. According to information published by WhatsApp Business, tens of millions of businesses use the platform to communicate with their customers and partners. According to companies, the high volume of messages and file sharing without specific control mechanisms can result in the disclosure of sensitive data or intellectual property information.
The solution combines the visibility offered by the Tuvis platform with Forcepoint security technology. The system operates on communications platforms that, because they prioritize end-user privacy, do not natively have enterprise tools aimed at imposing compliance policies or ensuring confidentiality when exchanging information with third parties.
“By enforcing Forcepoint’s Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies through the Tuvis platform, the system identifies information in real time. The technology captures shared messages and verifies that the content complies with regulatory standards established by each organization,” explains Luiz Faro, senior director of engineering for the Americas at Forcepoint.
The system was developed to support regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), General Data Protection Act (LGPD), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), using automated detection, blocking, and audit trail generation mechanisms.
“This partnership establishes a framework for businesses seeking to monitor messages exchanged with their customers or suppliers, while maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements,” says Deborah Wanzo, CEO of Tuvis.
The integration between Forcepoint and Tuvis enables the adoption of security management aimed at reducing the risk of information leakage. The solution focuses on implementing protective controls without interfering with the routine use of work teams.
“We will start applying the DLP solution through the Tuvis platform in Brazilian companies, with the intention of expanding it to other markets,” Faro emphasizes.
With this move, companies are introducing a security model for business communications that seeks to strengthen sensitive data protection and information governance, aligning with global compliance standards.
