According to the journalist, Felipe Prior could be arrested at any time after a new court conviction
The legal situation of the ex-BBB and architect Felipe Avant reached a decisive point after another defeat in the higher courts. THE Superior Court of Justice (STJ) rejected the appeal presented by his defense and maintained the conviction already confirmed in second instance. As a result, the sentence handed down by the Court will be carried out imminently, opening the possibility of arrest at any time, as provided for in Brazilian legislation.
The case analyzed refers to an episode that occurred in the early hours of August 8, 2014, but which only became public years later, in 2020, when the architect gained national notoriety by participating in the BBB20of Globo Television. According to the complaint, the victim was a friend of Prior’s and was drunk after a party. Investigations indicate that both studied at Mackenzie Presbyterian University and lived at the time in the northern area of São Paulo.
Prosecution report and court decisions
According to journalist Gabriel Perline, the approach after offering a tour, Felipe Avant allegedly stopped the car on a dark street, began touching and kissing each other without consent, then forced sex. The victim claims to have said “No” several times and said he tried to physically resist. In July 2023, Prior was sentenced to six years in semi-open prison, a sentence the Court of Justice of São Paulo (TJSP) brought it to eight years, unanimously, in September.
Despite this outcome, the former BBB faces three other similar charges. This month, he was acquitted in one of those cases. In another case, related to an alleged crime that occurred in Votuporanga, in February 2015, the São Paulo court decided to acquit in second instance, emphasizing that the processes follow independent trajectories within the judiciary.
