MADRID, December 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Former Bolivian President Luis Arce was arrested this Wednesday, according to what his former Minister of the Presidency María Nela Prada reported, allegedly as part of an investigation for alleged embezzlement of capital from the Indigenous Fund during the period he was Minister of Economy.
“I want to denounce before the Bolivian people and before the international community that a moment ago they just kidnapped former president Luis Alberto Arce (…) in Sopocachi, a district of the city of La Paz,” he declared through a video published on his profile on the social network Facebook.
Prada explained that he was heading to the headquarters of the Special Crime Fighting Force (FELCC), a specialized unit of the Bolivian police, where the Latin American country’s former head of state is believed to have been transferred.
“Right now, I’m heading to that place to see if they kidnapped him there in a totally illegal way,” he expressed, insisting that it was a “totally illegal kidnapping” that took place while “he was alone.”
