Former Bolivian President Luis Arce was arrested this Wednesday, according to his former Minister of the Presidency María Nela Prada, who reportedly as part of an investigation into alleged misappropriation of funds from the Indigenous Fund in the period in … who was Minister of the Economy.
“I want to denounce before the Bolivian people and before the international community that a moment ago they just kidnapped former president Luis Alberto Arce (…) in Sopocachi, a district of the city of La Paz,” he declared through a video published on his profile on the social network Facebook.
Prada explained that heads towards the headquarters of the Special Crime Fighting Force (FELCC), specialized unit of the Bolivian police, where the former head of state of the Latin American country was reportedly transferred.
“Right now, I’m heading to that place to see if they kidnapped him there in a totally illegal way,” he expressed, insisting that it was a “totally illegal kidnapping” that took place while “he was alone.”
