
Former President of Brazil and current director of the New BRICS Development Bank (NBD), Dilma Rousseff (PT), celebrates her 78th birthday this Sunday (12/14). She is the country’s 36th president, having served between 2011 and 2016, when she was impeached.
Dilma also served as Minister of Mines and Energy in 2003, during the first term of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). On social networks, she was honored by the Workers’ Party (PT):
“The story of a woman who never surrendered. The Workers’ Party salutes and celebrates Dilma Rousseff on her 78th birthday. Warrior of democracy. Happy birthday, President Dilma!”, the party said.

What Dilma said about Trump’s promised tariffs
Minister of Institutional Relations Gleisi Hoffmann also celebrated the former president’s birthday, saying that Dilma dedicated her life to Brazil:
“Today is the day of the celebration of the 78th birthday of President Dilma Rousseff. A life dedicated to Brazil, always in defense of democracy and the Brazilian people. Happy birthday, Dilma!” announced Hoffmann.
Internet users also wanted to congratulate the former president on social networks.
She currently heads Brics, based in China. Appointed by President Lula to this position, Dilma has led the institution since 2023.
