A couple and their son were found dead inside their house, in Cidade Líder, eastern area of São Paulo, Thursday afternoon (12/18). It is suspected that the man killed his wife and child, then committed suicide.
The military police were called after a suspected gas leak in the residence located on Rua Campo da Vinha. At the scene, police discovered that former prison guard Aulenilso Da Silva, aged 52, was holding hostage his wife, prison guard Áurea Ferreira, aged 41, and their son, a little boy of only 4 years old.
Neighbors reported hearing gunshots. Police said the suspect had released cooking gas inside the home. As a result, firefighters and the Special Tactical Action Group (GATE) were called due to the risk of an explosion at the site.
When emergency services entered the property, the family members were already dead. According to preliminary information, the woman and child died earlier, possibly the day before. The wound on Aulenilso’s neck indicates that he recently committed suicide. A 38 caliber revolver was found in the hand of the former prison guard.
