The former face of the Unidos de Vila Isabel samba school, Rayane Figliuzzi, is the subject of a civil police investigation for having burned a client who allegedly used an artificial tanning bed in her clinic, in Taquara, southwest area of Rio. The action was carried out by agents of the Consumer Police Station (Decon), with Health Surveillance, who closed the beauty clinic on Thursday and arrested a beautician in flagrante delicto.

The action was triggered following a complaint from a woman who said she had suffered burns while carrying out a procedure in the establishment. Following the complaint, teams went to the site to investigate the operating conditions of the clinic.
On site, experts from the Carlos Éboli Forensic Institute (ICCE) identified several irregularities. According to the agents, medicines considered unfit for human consumption, equipment without any type of sterilization and products beyond their expiration date were found.
According to the company, the establishment did not have any type of documentation necessary for its operation. Given the irregularities noted during the inspection, the beautician who worked on site was arrested for crimes against consumer relations.
Rayane, the owner of the clinic, will in turn answer for crimes against public health and against consumer relations, as reported by the civil police.
The person under investigation was dismissed as the face of Unidos de Vila Isabel before she even made her debut at school rehearsals, a decision that had repercussions on the networks. This dismissal comes after Rayane’s name was involved in a fight in a restaurant, involving two school counselors. The episode took on a delicate tone when one of the employees, Juliana Palmer, was allegedly the victim of racism.
At the time, the influencer chose not to speak publicly and had also severed relations with her former advisor. This silent stance, added to the history of controversies during the reality show, led the Vila Isabel board of directors to remove her from the carnival.

In a statement, Rayane Figliuzzi’s lawyer said that in fact, the property located on Avenida Marechal Miguel Salazar Mendes de Morais, in Taquara, has not been operating as an aesthetic clinic for several months and would be completely deactivated.
According to the memo, the space does not provide services to the public, does not offer cosmetic procedures and has no operational activities. The defense claims that the location is used exclusively as a warehouse and showroom for the beachwear brand UZZI, itself owned by Rayane Figliuzzi, which, according to the lawyer, could be proven by the internal organization of the environment and the current use of the space.
The memo also states that the equipment discovered during the police investigation was turned off, unused and incapable of functioning, and that there was no scenario for performing cosmetic procedures on site. Still according to the lawyer, at the time of the police action, a former collaborator of Rayane Figliuzzi was in the property just to remove personal effects, accompanied by a friend and client. The defense claims that none of them performed, requested or authorized to perform any type of cosmetic treatment.
The note also specifies that the Civil Police had linked Rayane Figliuzzi to activities linked to another clinic, belonging to the former collaborator, located at a different address. According to the defense, this association would be erroneous.
Concerning the products seized on site, the lawyer specifies that they are cosmetics, care items, materials for individual use and inputs intended for the stock of the UZZI brand. The note adds that some of the products correspond to items intended for the personal use of Rayane Figliuzzi, acquired legally and on medical prescription.
The defense also said it had footage from the property’s internal surveillance system that recorded officers’ entry to the scene. Read:
“The defense has internal surveillance images that record the entry of agents and prove the absence of customers; lack of service; lack of aesthetic activity; exclusive use as a warehouse and showroom. The recordings will be presented to the authorities to guarantee the faithful reconstruction of the facts. All legal measures are already being adopted. Ms. Rayane Figliuzzi is a businesswoman, has an unblemished reputation and has never acted in a clandestine or illicit manner. The defense will act in a technical and responsible manner to establish the truth, protect its constitutional guarantees, and hold accountable all officers who acted in violation of the law.”
