There are projects that grow without giving up their roots, and Rols Carpets is one of them. From its Crevillente factory, this century-old family business is experiencing a new stage of international consolidationpromoting sustainability, design, technology and manufacturing … local to become a reference in high-end interior design.
For decades, the company focused its business on carpet manufacturing. However, evolving interior design trends and market demands have led Rols Carpets to focus on a high-value niche: custom carpets for residential, contract and hospitality projects. Its current proposal is based on sustainable and recycled materials, such as responsibly sourced wool, fibers obtained from plastic bottles or nylon recovered from fishing nets. All production is carried out entirely in its Crevillente factory, powered by energy from solar panels which power the looms and significantly reduce the environmental footprint.
Rols Carpets was the first European company in the carpet sector to obtain the B Corp certificationone of the most stringent accreditations in the world in terms of social impact, responsible governance and environmental sustainability. This recognition strengthens its positioning as an industrial benchmark in the transition to responsible production models. He creative impulse This is also part of its growth strategy. The company began collaborating with internationally renowned designers and its first signature collection, Strata, designed by Wallace&Sewell, was awarded the Red Dot Best of Best and the IF Design Gold Award, a boost that opens the door to new global markets.
Added to this vision is the integration of artificial intelligence in the strategic areas of the company, not as an exercise in modernity, but as a tool that improves creativityoperational efficiency and quality of service. In the field of design, AI makes it possible to prototype ideas, explore color variations and visualize creative alternatives with greater agility, accelerating the development of collections and expanding the possibilities of creative teams without losing the artisanal essence of the brand.
In the operational area, Rols has developed its own system that automates order processing, a complex process due to the thousands of possible combinations in personalized rugs. The tool is capable of interpreting technical drawings, detailed instructions, scanned handwritten notes or emails with specificationsby structuring this information and recording it directly in the ERP. This advancement reduces errors, improves internal agility and frees up time for higher value-added tasks.
“We are finalizing two specialized assistants based on artificial intelligence that will improve the end user experience and the professional prescriber. The first will offer clear recommendations on maintenance and cleaning, ensuring greater durability of the carpets. The second will function as a technical advisor for architects and interior designers, capable of resolving doubts about regulations, acoustic performance or resistance, as well as helping to correctly specify products in the project documentation”, explains Fernando Fernández.
