Raffaella Romina, a nationally recognized aesthetic pharmacist and authority in body and body alignment, has always had the premise of delivering results with immediate effect without compromising on naturalness. But inside her private clinic, in Barra da Tijuca, she found the catalyst that would change her entrepreneurial path.
After countless body protocols, patients began asking the specialist to replicate the “glow” and texture their skin had gained with the professional products used after the procedure. The luminous, lush and moisturizing effect has become an object of desire.
“There I realized there was a market to explore and that I was leaving money on the table,” says Dr. Rafaella.
Birth of Brillho Carioca
Motivated by real pain and growing demand, Rafaela began searching for laboratories that would accept the challenge of creating an unprecedented formula: a body product capable of providing deep hydration and, at the same time, an elegant and long-lasting glow, something that is not “too greasy” or “too shiny,” but leaves the skin naturally luminous.
Most labs refused. Artistic balance seemed impractical.
Until 2024, the manufacturer accepted the challenge. From here began one of the most delicate stages of the process. Dr. Raffaella became the first to test each version: every 30 days, a new formula, subtle adjustments to texture, shine and absorption; Clinical records of sensory, finishing and performance.
The goal was clear: to create a unique, sophisticated and recognizable glow, able to enhance all skin tones, especially Brazilian skin, which has its own tones and characteristics.
In October 2024, the final version was ready. However, the launch has been strategically postponed until December, ensuring full alignment of brands, positioning and operations.
When Brilho Carioca hit the market, the impact was immediate. The community was already following the process behind the scenes, and pent-up demand meant the first shipments sold out quickly.
With less than a year in operation, the brand has already generated $1 million in revenue and turned body glow into a national trend, from doctors’ offices to women’s handbags across the country.
Distribution was initially concentrated in Rio de Janeiro, then expanded throughout Brazil.
Today, the company also ships abroad, serving countries where there is a large influx of Brazilian women.
In addition to running Brilho Carioca, Dr. Rafaela runs her famous clinic, consults and courses to teach her exclusive techniques.
Its technical authority combined with the strategic vision of someone who understands aesthetics practically turns the brand into one of the most promising cases in the beauty, skin and body care sector.
