
The former director of the Federal Highway Police (PRF) Silvinei Vasques was transferred this Saturday (27/12) from the headquarters of the Federal Police (PF) in Foz do Iguaçu (PR) to the company’s headquarters in Brasilia (DF). According to the Metropoliseshe will go to the 19th Military Police Battalion of the Federal District (19th BPM), Papudinha.
Silvinei left Foz PF at 9:20 a.m. and boarded a PF plane around 10 a.m. The trip to Brasilia should take around two hours.
The former director of the PRF was sentenced by the Federal Court (STF) to 24 years and 6 months in prison for participation in the putsch plot. During his escape, he allegedly broke the electronic bracelet on his ankle and attempted to leave Brazil for Paraguay. The monitoring device having been damaged, the Brazilian authorities issued alerts. When Silvinei arrived in Paraguayan territory, local police arrested him.

According to the National Directorate of Migration, immigration inspectors at the airport identified Silvinei, who was trying to circumvent immigration controls by posing as a Paraguayan citizen, as Julio Eduardo Fernández. Thus, the arrest of the former director of the PRF was carried out with the support of the National Police.
Silvinei’s identity was confirmed through coordinated work between Punto Atenas Paraguay, the Migration Intelligence Network and the Tripartite Command.
