Gabigol’s mistake and Cruzeiro’s elimination from the Brazilian Cup go viral

Cruzeiro was beaten by Corinthians in the Copa do Brasil semi-final on Sunday night, the 14th. The decision came via penalty shootout, and Gabigol missed one. Rival fans were unforgiving of the mistake and quickly took to social media to joke about it.

During the match, Cruzeiro was in the lead on the scoreboard, which was 2–1, but the semi-final had to be decided on penalties due to the tie on aggregate, and that’s when Timão came on top.

Raposa scored all the goals until the fifth kick, when Gabigol made a mistake. At that point, Cruzeiro was still tied with Corinthians, who missed the penalty on the second kick. The decision was made on Friday, when Walace missed the goal, leading to Cruzeiro’s elimination.

The Copa do Brasil finals will take place on December 17 and 21. Corinthians will face Fluminense or Vasco, who will play the other semi-final this evening.
