Gaby Martinez remembers the problems and traumas he experienced during the carnival: “I cried a lot”

Gaby Martinez You already realize that in order to survive the carnival, you need more than just the desire to samba. After becoming a meme, tripping over her own moligo, and facing negative comments about samba, the singer enters 2026 in her fifth year as Villa Isabel’s muse with a different attitude. Now, her journey at Sapukai has become a constant process of adaptation, as she tries to prove, article by article, that the title is here to stay.

“I learned all about carnival from Pedro Scobie,” admits Cynthia Decker.

She takes it hard. literally. In an interview with this columnist from CapitalsThe technique has evolved into something that blends samba, discipline and a 10-kilo vest that won’t let go, Gabe said. The strategy, according to her, is to transform the body into pure resistance to counter the dance and the weight of the costume.

Watch the interview:

“Position and also, on the Avenida, there is what we will carry on our backs. We put that weight on our feet as well, and we train so that it is really the same on the day, so that everything is perfect and there are no problems. But anything can happen.”

Revisiting her story on Avenida, Gaby also returns to the episode that marked her third year as Villa Isabel’s muse. During the 2024 fashion show, the bra was lifted, leaving part of the breasts exposed. I continued dancing as if nothing had happened, but tension took over the rest of the night.

“It was my third year on the show. My bra showed and my breasts were exposed. I had a smile on my face, and I pretended nothing had happened. It’s scary, I feel very insecure. After the show I cried a lot.”

At every carnival, Gabby tries to prepare for the unpredictable, but she does realize that Sabukai always has a surprise in store.

“Now it all comes down to it. But anything can happen. The carnival is like a show, you have no control over anything. I hope it doesn’t happen again.”
