Exports of goods and services recorded an increase of 3.3% in the third quarter, compared to the second quarter, in the seasonally adjusted series, according to data released on Thursday (4) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
The result was practically in line with the average forecast I had collected valueWhich showed a 3.2% increase in exports.
Compared to the third quarter of 2024, exports increased by 7.2%. In this case, the average expectation for value An increase of 6.2%.
On the other hand, imports increased by 0.3% in the third quarter compared to the second quarter. The result was well below the average expectations I had collected valueWhich rose by 1.3%.
Regarding the third quarter of 2024, there was a 2.2% expansion in purchases of goods from abroad. The average market expectation was for an expansion of 3.9%.
