In a special vignette released by the platform, Giovanna, dressed in white, pretends to be in a recording of Globo’s end-of-year appeal. She even begins the traditional song with “Hoje…”, but soon changes pace and shows that she is no longer advertising the Rio station.
The call is full of allusions to the candidates and says: “if you think that the soap opera is the same, it’s because you haven’t seen Beleza Fatal”. They continue with “here the hero dies at the end” and “there is no similarity, there is no cliché”.

It is worth remembering that Beleza Fatal, a success on HBO Max, was already the target of a rivalry between the platform and TV Globo in another era, with exchanges of “punches” between official profiles on social networks.
The virtual fight between HBO Max and Globo also includes other moments. Eduardo Sterblitch criticized a production from the streaming platform and compared the figures with those of Vale Tudo, during Upfront in October.
It is also important to point out that Giovanna Antonelli has already stated in interviews that she does not intend to return to TV Globo soap operas. She said she would only return “if it’s something extraordinary.”
On social networks, the provocative video sparked comments. “Talk about never having another soap opera on TV Globo after this one,” reacted one user. “Wow, that was one of the stupidest decisions of his career,” said another. “It will become persona non grata,” guaranteed a third.
