Seville is taking a decisive step towards becoming an international reference in high-level maritime tourism. The Urban Port Area of Seville will have a new cruise and megayacht terminal of more than 1,500 square meters, managed by the commercial alliance formed … by Global Ports Holding and Ocean Platform Marinas.
The award was approved by the Board of Directors of the Seville Port Authority, which gave the green light to this strategic project with a concession planned for the next 25 years.
Global Ports Holding is the world’s largest cruise terminal operator, with a presence in Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and Europe; while Ocean Platform Marinas is one of the leading managers of long-length marinas in Spain. Together, the two companies will work to position the Port of Seville as a destination of choice for cruise ships and megayachts.
The concession covers more than five thousand square meters between the current Delicias Wharf terminal and its adjacent areas, in addition to 1,500 square meters at the Tablada Wharf, where the new terminal will be located in one of the historic hangars of the port. With this move, the Delicias quay will strengthen its role as a marina for large yachts.
The project involves an investment of more than five million euros, aimed at improving mooring areas, optimizing passenger flow and offering specialized technical services for large ships. Additionally, they are looking to exponentially increase the number of cruise passengers from over 20,000 that Seville receives each year.
With this initiative, Seville strengthens its city-port integration and consolidates itself as a strategic enclave for high-value maritime tourism in southern Europe.
